Wildlife including whales, porpoise, sea lions, seals, sea otters, eagles, black bear, goats, puffins and eagles are year-round residents. The waters of Prince William Sound are protected from the Gulf of Alaska by two large islands which block ocean swell and keep the waters relatively calm most days. Join us for an incomparable 4-5 day cruise on Prince William Sound - endless breathtaking scenery, active tidewater glaciers, waterfalls, towering mountains, temperate rainforests, abundant wildlife, solitude from the crowds and magical protected coves to spend evenings anchored in. Wilderness lovers will not be disappointed! Incomparable wildlife viewing opportunities! Our guests are able to view sea lions, sea otters, eagles, porpoise and seals 100% of the time, puffins and whales 99% of the time and bears 90% of the time. One day during lunch in a protected passage humpback whales breached close to our yacht. One of our guests made the comment, "This is like being in a zoo." Activity options include viewing tidewater glaciers, hiking in the rainforests, whale watching, bird watching, fishing, shrimping, beachcombing, a salmon hatchery tour, viewing sea otters, sea lions, seals, eagles, bears and other wildlife in their environment. Kayaking is also available for a small additional fee. Ever watched salmon jumping up waterfalls or bears feeding on salmon on television? You can see it up close and personal on our tours & with no commercials!!! We offer two boat options with different accommodations, trip lengths and rates - Good Times, our luxury 50' boat, offers mostly 4-6 day trips 40' Fool's Gold provides a less costly, less luxurious option and offers 2-5 day trips. Both boats are crewed by a Captain and deckhand. 50 ' M/V Good Times was designed and built as a live-aboard yacht. It offers 3 private guest cabins that sleep 2 each, 2 heads with walk in showers, a large salon to relax in, a large galley for great meals, and a covered cockpit (outside deck) for those less than perfect days. The Good Times has a full size refrigerator, freezer, clothes dryer and Jennaire oven. 40' M/V Fool's was designed and built as a day trip fishing charter boat. She has great walk around decks, the speed to make short trips productive and is large enough to handle most days in Prince William Sound comfortably. Extensive remodeling allows us to conduct multiday trips as well as day trips. Amenities don't match those of the Good Times, but work well for families or friends who don't need the privacy and comfort of the Good Times. Fool's Gold is well suited for 4 adults or families up to 6, but we can accommodate 6 adults plus crew. Deposit/Reservation Policy Single party bookings require a deposit of $3000, or full payment if less than $3000. Deposits are 95% refundable up to 30 days from receipt of deposit. Deposits become non-refundable 31 days from receipt of deposit. Balance is due 60 days before departure and is non-refundable. Split party bookings (two or more parties) require full payment to confirm reservations and payments are non-refundable. In the event of cancellation Alaska Good Time Charters LLC will attempt to book a replacement party and if successful, refund a portion of your payment.
Blackstone Bay is a truly unique experience, offering a cliff hanging glacier, two tidewater glaciers, land based glaciers, waterfalls and wildlife - a glimpse of the last ice age. Approximately 30 minutes is spent at the faces of Blackstone and Beloit Glaciers where with a little luck you?ll witness the glaciers calving. Blackstone Glacier is currently retreating and may cease to be a tidewater glacier in the future. Our 3 hour tour is a quick trip out to Blackstone Glacier to view the glaciers and wildlife and then back to Whittier. Our 5 hour tour offers the same sights taking a bit more time to view the glaciers and wildlife plus we serve our soon to be famous barbecued salmon lunch. The 7 hour tour takes it a step farther - taking you to Lake Bay, home of the largest salmon hatchery in North America. Once anchored at Lake Bay you?ll be shuttled to shore for a short moderate hike in South Esther Island State Marine Park to seldom visited Esther Falls Overlook. From Esther Falls your guide will escort you to the Wally Noerenburg Salmon Hatchery crossing a stream (yes there is a bridge) that is often filled with salmon trying to navigate the rapids. This stream is a popular hangout for bald eagles and black bear who feed on the salmon. At the hatchery your guide will explain the operation of the hatchery and discuss some of the latest science that has improved hatchery performance. 2012 Glacier Tour Rates

We had a wonderful time. We could not have imagined that we would have seen the amazing amount of scenery and wildlife the you were able to show us. It was truly a thrilling adventure. The fishing was great, something eastern smallmouth bass fisherman just don't get to do. The halibut gives a real battle. I have never cared for the taste of salmon but what we caught and you and Devon prepared were absolutely fantastic. The food was excellent through out the entire trip. I particularly want to mention the time we spent at the glacier, it was a great experience.
