Alaska Good Time Charters, LLC is a licensed Big Game Transporter providing transportation from Whittier to Prince William Sounds' outstanding hunting and fishing areas plus meals and lodging aboard "Good Times", our 50 yacht. Comfortable accommodations, great meals, incredible scenery, marine wildlife and a relaxing environment make this a great hunt to bring along the spouse, even if they don't care to hunt.

Our hunts are designed for hunters with prior hunting experience who don’t require the complete services of a guide. Some advantages to our hunts are price, you can hunt how you want to hunt, and in most cases, the accommodations are much nicer. The advantages of a guided hunt are they should be able to better judge the size of a bear and they will skin and pack the bear for you.

Alaska Trophy Black Bear Hunting – Plus A Whole Lot More

Prince William Sound is considered one of the premiere black bear hunting areas in the world.  Hunting is accomplished by spotting from the GOOD TIMES, cruising protected bays and passages with inflatable boats and from land.  On average, a 6 day hunt results in more than 20 bear sightings.

Black bear hunts can be strictly hunting, hunting and fishing, or hunting, sightseeing and fishing. Spring hunts can include halibut, rock fish and sometimes salmon fishing. Fall black bear hunts offer halibut and salmon fishing plus the opportunity to hunt deer. Chances are excellent that you’ll see sea otters, bald eagles, sea lions, Dall’s porpoise and possibly orca and humpback whales.

Black Bear Hunting Success rates - 100% of our hunters have spotted bears and had the opportunity to stalk a bear. Harvest rates the last 5 years is approximately 75%. Missed shots, waiting for a bigger bruin and unsuccessful stalks account for the other 25%.

Alaska Bear hunting is offered spring and fall, generally from May 7th - June 10th and September 1st - October 10th.

Parties of 4 - 6 will have the boat exclusively.  Parties of 2-3 can charter the boat exclusively or request to share the boat with another party of 2-3.

Price includes transportation from Whittier to the field, meals and lodging aboard our yachts, use of inflatable boats for hunting, Whittier sales tax and U.S. Forest Service user fees. Prices do not include hunting license, big game tags or processing of game.

Alaska Blacktail Deer Hunting

Prince William Sound has several islands with healthy populations of deer. Early morning drop-offs to the beach with afternoon or evening pickups have been the most effective method.Warm dry nights aboard our vessels make this hunt a real pleasure. To top it off, Prince William Sound venison is excellent. Limit is four deer per year for non-residents and 5 for Alaska residents. Either sex hunting begins October 1st.

Blacktail Deer Hunting Success rates - Approximately 80% of deer hunters harvest at least one deer. Deer hunting success is directly proportionate to the amount of effort expended.In 2000, hunters averaged 1.5 deer each.  In 2001, hunters averaged 3 deer each. Most mature bucks harvested have heavy fork antlers with eye guards. Several bucks harvested in recent years have field dressed at 200+ pounds.

Alaska Deer Hunting Season in Prince William Sound is August 1-December 31. August is a perfect time to combine halibut, salmon and or shark fishing with deer hunting. September black bear and deer hunting can be combined with fishing. October and November are most popular.
